Childhood: The Only Phase of Carefree Living
Each of us experiences childhood uniquely, but we can all agree it was special. As kids, we lived in a world full of wonder, discovering new things every day. When we were kids, our curiosity knew no bounds, and it was unstoppable.

When we were young school kids, everything seemed different and magical. Even something as simple as seeing a new color or model of a car we hadn’t seen before would fill us with excitement. We met new people regularly, heard strange and amazing sounds, and made friends with kids from our neighborhood. Each day was a new adventure that we tackled with excitement.
Our days overflowed with curiosity, happiness, and excitement, fostering a sense of carefree living we may never regain in adulthood. The smallest things brought immense pleasure. With the comforting presence of our parents or older siblings, we reveled in a carefree and joyful existence. We still cherish the memory of those carefree days, don’t we?
It’s challenging to find the precise words to describe the feelings we had as children. Even if such words existed, they wouldn’t fully capture the pure joy of being a kid.
Teenage: Self-Awareness and Rebel Phase
When we are between the ages of 5 and 7, we are not fully aware of our surroundings. However, as we continue to grow, our self-awareness expands, and we begin to realize our independence from our parents.

During our teenage years, we started trying new things without our parents knowing, like experimenting with smoking. The world wasn’t as magical as before, but it still held mysteries. We explored new experiences, like pursuing our first romantic relationships, which brought us joy. However, our parents weren’t happy about our rebellious behavior.
During this period, we really wanted to grow up fast. We thought being adults meant living carefree lives. We felt adults, like our parents and teachers, had too much control over us, and we wanted independence. We thought adults were happy because no one controlled them. But now, as adults ourselves, we see life can be tough and challenging.
Adulthood: A Phase of Confusion, Conflict, and Hardships
As we grow older and transition into adulthood, we begin to see the world in a different light. The world loses its charm and magic, appearing dull and monochrome. During this phase, we come to realize the folly of our childhood desire to become adults and lead carefree lives. Adult life isn’t as thrilling as we once imagined. We start working jobs and saving money for our retirement, aiming for a more secure future.

Our parents also age, and we take on the responsibility of caring for them. We find the love of our life and decide to settle down. Before settling down, we might think that marriage will mark the beginning of a carefree life, but married life brings its unique challenges. Eventually, we become parents ourselves and begin investing in our children’s education and well-being, hoping to provide them with the best opportunities.
Amidst the hustle and bustle of life, years fly by, and we reach the age of retirement.
Elderhood: Retirement, Reflections, and Finding Closure
As we check our bank balance, we come to the realization that it’s not sufficient to support a carefree life. During this time, our children have grown and begun their own careers and families. Gradually, our parents pass away, and we find ourselves in a situation where living a carefree life seems impossible.

As we continue to age, we become increasingly dependent on our children, relying on them for both emotional support and care. Unfortunately, as the years go by, the carefree life we once dreamt of seems to slip further from our grasp. Finally, as we reach the end of our journey, we often find ourselves looking back, realizing that the carefree existence we yearned for as children remains an unfulfilled dream.
So, can you live a carefree life or not?
Life is inherently cyclical; we transition from nonexistence to existence at birth and return to nonexistence at death. Only those unburdened by worldly concerns and responsibilities, like children, can truly lead a carefree life, unlike adults or mature individuals.

You might have noticed wealthy people who seem to live without a care in the world, and this might be why you aspire to live the same way. However, many well-off individuals have faced or continue to face significant stress and challenges, even though these difficulties may not be visible from afar. They’re living an easier life, not necessarily a carefree one.
So, it’s important to understand that there’s no carefree life for adults. In life, you have two paths to consider: the tough road or the simple route.

Both paths lead to an easier life. If you choose the simple route, you need to let go of worries about small issues and find contentment in what you already have. Live in a way that minimizes unnecessary worries and responsibilities and enjoy every moment, big or small, without letting setbacks weigh you down.

On the tough road, which also leads to an easier life, you need to find something you excel in and truly enjoy, allowing you to earn well without excessive hard work. Alternatively, you can work diligently during early adulthood, setting the stage for a more comfortable and enjoyable life in later years, similar to affluent individuals you may have encountered.
However, it’s important to remember that once we reach adulthood, the dream of a completely carefree existence becomes an unattainable reality.
