Beautiful Girl on the Bus in a Light Pink Dress

Upon a bus, a beautiful girl I spied, in a dress of light pink hue,
Her presence stirred a foolishness, a truth I must construe.

Beside the window, she sat serene, her hair kissed by the air,
Her eyes aglow, like Altair’s gleam, a beauty beyond compare.

In dreams, I wove a plan to speak, with charm and grace so fine,
But alas, my folly took its hold, my fantasies entwined.

Her stop drew near, she gracefully stepped down, leaving my heart marked,
Now her lovely face, a fading thought, from memory disembarked.

The Story Behind This Poem on a Beautiful Girl

I wrote this poem years ago, inspired by a moment from my college days. While on the bus to college, I noticed a beautiful girl in a lovely pink dress. Though I didn’t know where she got on, I remember where she got off—near my college.

Observing her sit down so gracefully, I couldn’t help but admire her from a distance, especially the way her hair swayed gently. Although we got off at the same stop, I didn’t mention that part in my poem. She walked away into an alley, leaving me with memories of her pink dress and beautiful hair.

As time went on, I spotted a few other beautiful girls who resembled her, but I couldn’t be certain if it was truly her or just my mind playing tricks. At 17 years old, I was entranced by her, though she seemed older, perhaps around 21.

During adolescence, boys often perceive girls as ethereal beings, almost angelic. However, as we mature, we realize that girls are just like us—they think, they gossip, they live their lives. They’re not the celestial figures we once imagined them to be, and that realization can be disheartening for some.

Sometimes, I think about the beautiful love stories that never really happen. There’s a sadness to them, but also something special. I wonder if girls think about these stories too, or if they write poems about people like boys do. Boys often have these short love stories that never come true, but there’s something pure about them. They’re not about lust or fights, just simple, sweet moments that never go beyond imagination.

In those daydreams, everything feels pure, sweet, and ends happily, but such scenarios are rare in real life, mostly found in movies. In my poem, I’m referring to something innocent and whimsical, totally different from checking out girls. There are many introvert boys, like me, imagine these sweet love stories in their heads, knowing they’ll never come true in real life.

That’s the silly short story behind my poem. If you enjoyed reading it, please share it with your friends and family. Your support helps us reach more people and continue our creative work. Thank you for reading! Wishing you a beautiful day ahead.
